It’s raining, your kids are home from school, and they’re driving you nuts? Try some of these activities that will not only entertain them, but might also entertain you. These four fun rainy day activities won’t cost you a dime. (Unless you need some ingredients!) Try them out next time it’s raining (or too cold) outside.
• Create a recipe book, then make cookies!
Often times families have favorite recipes, or ones that have been passed down for a few generations, but do you have all of those recipes in one place? Give your kids some index cards, and some colored pencils, have them color in the rectangle on the top of the card (so that you have the rest of the room to write) or if you prefer to print the recipes out, then have them color the entire card as they’d like. Either write the recipes you’d like to include on the card or print them out and glue them to the pre-decorated cards. Then punch holes in each card and put them all on a ring or piece of string. You will have all of your favorite recipes in one easy place to find them. (You can even hang it on the fridge!) Making cookies is also a good rainy day activity, use your favorite recipe in your new recipe book.
