I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Rubbermaid. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Before the holidays officially started I was thrilled when I was chosen to test out the Rubbermaid Party Serving Kit and the Party Platter. You see, we travel out of town every Thanksgiving and Christmas and I’m talking an almost 3 hour drive with kids, luggage, 3 dogs, and lots and lots of food, the whole shebang. My biggest concern is always, “Will it make it there safely?” It sounds simple enough but it’s actually a huge pain. Ladies, let’s face it, nothing stresses us out more than our hours of hard work getting ruined or trying to figure out how to transport it safely to wherever we’re going if we aren’t hosting.
The real test came as we ran out of room in the front of the vehicle and had to put all of our food and luggage into the back of the truck. I’m talking stacked, placed among suitcases, driven all the way down the freeway, and pothole after pothole down the back roads way out in the boonies where my in-laws live in my hometown and then all the way to my sister’s house across town back through those bumpy roads. Thanks to Rubbermaid this is the first year I can say that all of my food made it to our destination safely. The fruit and the fruit dip stayed safely in place in the party platter and the cupcakes in the party serving kit didn’t move AT ALL! I’m loving both of these products. The Party Serving Kit was perfect for my cupcakes because it holds 12 cupcakes safely and securely. Don’t make fun of my ugly cupcakes, I ran out of time to frost them pretty. They were actually quite good. They’re pumpkin cupcakes with a brown sugar frosting and they were gobbled up in a matter of minutes.
The holder is actually quite deep and even if I’d had more time to use my frosting bag and tips, the built up frosting on top of the cupcakes wouldn’t have touched the top of the lid because there’s plenty of space. The party serving kit is really sturdy and while I used it to hold cupcakes, the kit comes with another insert for carrying deviled eggs or mini cupcakes or you can just remove both of the nested inserts and use the base to transport items like cookies, cakes, pies, etc. The carrying handle makes transporting baked goods a breeze. I wish I’d had these Rubbermaid food storage containers years ago! The party platter is just as awesome because it’s microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe, and didn’t leak any sticky fruit juices or dip during my rough little road trip to have Thanksgiving with my family.
I’m getting to the best part. I used the Rubbermaid Party Platter to transport various fruits and my amazing Whipped Raspberry Fruit Dip Recipe. Seriously, this is the easiest recipe ever and only has two ingredients in it. This fruit dip tastes AMAZING served with strawberries, grapes, blackberries, pineapple, and other fruits and also goes well with vanilla wafer cookies and graham crackers. It’s a perfect snack to have before your big holiday meals and takes just a few minutes to put together.
- 1 Raspberry Mousse Yoplait Whips
- 1 8oz. Extra Creamy Cool Whip
- Mix both ingredients together well. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. Goes perfectly with strawberries, grapes, blackberries, raspberries, pineapple, vanilla wafer cookies, and graham crackers.
